Breast Cancer Research
It's a chilling statistic: every three minutes a women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer. From 1950 to the mid- 1980s, breast cancer had been the leading cause of death among American Women. Until then, society was not well educated about the disease and the topic was not talked about in public. Breast cancer is still the second leading cause of death in women in the U.S. today. More than 1.6 million breast cancer survivors are alive in America today. The five year survival rate after early-stage diagnosis and treatment is over 90%.
